What's new?

As is now well known, with the arrival of ValkAce, the roof hook offers a solution for both portrait and landscape orientation. This is a great solution for both the installer and the number of stock items at wholesalers. However, this currently presents the challenge that consumption of ValkPitched twist hooks is zero. Van der Valk now offers a solution for this, which can be used in collaboration with installers who still use the ValkPitched Slimline roof hook. Thanks to the extra slot in the Slimline twist hooks, these can now be used for portrait orientation.

Phase-out

The standard Alu. Slimline roof hook 40-50 mm (729530) and Alu. Slimline roof hook 35-59 mm adjustable (729540) will therefore be phased out, after which we will switch to the Slimline roof hook – (Twist for portrait) (729530T) and Slimline roof hook - Adjustable (Twist for portrait) (729540T).

Gross price remains the same

The gross price remains the same as the original standard roof hooks (729530 and 729540), despite the fact that this is a more expensive hook with an extra slot.

Item number

The choice for this item number construction is motivated by the fact that we are no longer making any changes to our ValkPVPlanner.

To overcome this, we are using the same number for these new roof hooks as for the current standard roof hook, but with a T added (Twist for portrait). In this way, largely the same item number can be used within the planner, while production and stock can still be managed separately.

Lock nut

It has been decided not to change the item numbers with lock nuts. This means that the Aluminium Slimline roof hook 40-50 mm hk+lock nut (729532) and Aluminium Slimline roof hook 35-59 mm adjustable hk+lock nut (729542) will no longer be produced. This means that they will be removed from our range. The lock nut (774005) can be added to the order separately.

Both portrait and landscape

If you want to use the Slimline roof hook (Twist for portrait) for both portrait and landscape orientation, the longer stainless steel hammer head bolt M8x50 mm (774250) can be added to your order.

Why is the longer bolt not included as standard? Because the excess length of the bolt cannot be accommodated by a bit, we have opted to stick with the 30 mm hammer head bolt. This means that the 729530T and 729540T are only suitable for portrait orientation, while the 729531 and

729541 are suitable for landscape orientation. The 50 mm hammer head bolt (774250) can be added to the order separately.

Availability and deliveries

The transition from the standard variant to the new twist hook with extra slot will be implemented gradually. Your contact person at Van der Valk will inform you when this new variant will be delivered. This transition is expected to take place in Q1.

Other notes

1. The slot in the new version is slightly shorter than in the current Slimline roof hook. See technical drawings in the appendix.

2. The length of the back of the hook is the same for all standard and T-hooks. In practice, this means that the roof hooks can be used interchangeably.
